The Challenge of Adolescent Immunizations and Preventative Care " Web-Based CME Activity has been designed with the goal to develop, maintain and increase the knowledge, skills and professional performance of pediatric healthcare providers by providing them with the highest quality, most relevant and accessible educational experience possible. An e-learning educational format will be utilized. You should participate in this activity if you are a healthcare provider who serves adolescents: primary care pediatrician, family physician, pediatric subspecialist, hospital and/or university faculty, resident, medical student or nurse practitioner.

At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Identify and understand adolescent characteristics and what they want from the medical system
  • Identify barriers to preventive health care
  • Identify different strategies to improve preventive health care and adolescent immunization rates
  • Utilize immunization guidelines to increase adolescent prevention interventions

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the joint sponsorship of Banner Health and the American Academy of Pediatrics Arizona Chapter. Banner Health is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians. Banner Health designates this live activity for a maximum of 1 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
