PEDS Tool Training and Certification

*This training is available to you 24 hours a day and is provided by the Arizona Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AzAAP) for a one-time fee of $30.00. If you have any questions you can contact AzAAP staff via phone at 602-532-0137 ext. 413.

PEDS (Parents’ Evaluation of Developmental Status) is a fast, accurate, inexpensive screening, triage, and surveillance tool for developmental and behavioral problems in children from birth to age 8. It meets the accuracy standards set by the American Academy of Pediatrics and uses the parents’ own assessment of the child’s behavioral problems, as determined to be significant by full, peer-reviewed, scientific validation studies.

Effective August 1, 2014, AHCCCS providers who are appropriately “certified” can be reimbursed for performing the PEDS at the 9, 18 and 24 month well child examinations. Participating in the web-based training module located on this website qualifies as a certification. Once the certification is complete, the certificate will need to be submitted to CAQH via the CAQH Provider Data Portal at https://proview.caqh.org/pr.

This section will take approximately 170 min. to complete. You can begin viewing this presentation now and stop when necessary. When you log into this educational session later you will begin where you left off. At the close of your training, you will be prompted to print your certificate so it is helpful to have print capabilities.

*****Note: When you complete the quiz, please click the “Finish Course” button to get your results and receive your certificate.
